Moon and Mesa Spiritual and Artist Retreat is a spacious guest bedroom, sitting room (or second bedroom) and private bath on the second floor of our home. Each bedroom is 15' x 20'. Guests also have access to laundry facilities. The retreat is located on an acre of land at the foothills of Virgin Mesa in Jemez Springs, NM. The guest quarters has its own private entrance and balcony, and overlooks the Jemez River with spectacular views of Cat Mesa and Virgin Mesa.
Our retreat caters to creative and/or spiritually minded individuals who seek peace and beauty, but there are no workshops that our guests are expected to attend.
Treatments
Artists may choose to sketch or paint the breathtaking landscapes of New Mexico and writers can take advantage of the mountain tranquility to work. Or just do nothing at all. There are many areas in which martial artists may practice their forms and the guest quarters include ample space for yoga practice.
What you do with your time here is solely up to you. Guests are always welcome to visit the sculpture/jewelry studio. You will also have no trouble sleeping with the soothing sounds of the river in the background and waking to bird songs in the morning.
There are many places of interest in the area. You may also just "hide out" in the sanctuary of your suite and on the property, enjoying the surrounding mountains and river. Your stay here may be as solitary as you wish.

Area sites of interest include Bandelier National Monument, Chaco Canyon, Jemez State Monument, Santa Fe National Forest, Native American pueblos, (15 minutes away from us is Jemez Pueblo) , Valle Caldera National Preserve, Bandelier National Monument, Jemez Mountain Trail, Jemez Springs Bath House/Spa, Albuquerque Balloon Festival in October, Soda Dam, Gilman Tunnels, Battleship Rock, Fenton Lake State Park, Los Alamos Bradbury Science Museum, Sanctuario de Chimayo, Ponderosa Vineyards and Winery, and the Bodhi Manda Zen Center. All over NM, you will find very old and beautiful churches such as the one down the road from us in San Ysidro. Art Jemez has exhibits and events all year long, including art sales on the third weekend of each month. Please check their calendar for upcoming events.
Other activities you may enjoy while on retreat are bicycling, mountain biking and hiking, cross country skiing, golfing, birdwatching and trout fishing a few feet from your room (the Jemez River runs through our property). You also have local restaurants, cafes, fine gift shops and art galleries/studios to choose from including our own gallery on-premise
